Job Description
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This role requires strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions about the menu items.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen staff.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and courteously.
- Order Management:
- Ensure that orders are accurately recorded and delivered to guests in a timely manner.
- Check in with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and address any issues or concerns.
- Process payments and provide guests with their bills.
- Table Maintenance:
- Set up tables before service with clean linens, cutlery, glasses, and plates.
- Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave.
- Ensure that the dining area is clean, tidy, and well-organized at all times.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure efficient service.
- Assist in opening and closing duties, such as setting up and breaking down the dining area.
- Help with stocking supplies, folding napkins, and performing other side duties as needed.
- Customer Interaction:
- Build rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Address and resolve any guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a customer service role is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a customer-focused attitude.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
