Job Description
As a Chinese Chef, you will bring the rich and diverse flavours of Chinese cuisine to our kitchen. Your expertise in traditional and modern Chinese cooking techniques will delight our guests and elevate their dining experience. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that showcase the authentic tastes of China.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Create and design a menu that features a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Ensure that the menu caters to different tastes and preferences while maintaining authenticity.
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide range of Chinese dishes using traditional techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, braising, and roasting. Ensure that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented beautifully.
- Ingredient Management: Source and select the best ingredients to create authentic Chinese flavors. Maintain inventory and ensure that all ingredients are stored properly and used efficiently.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of dishes prepared, ensuring that they meet the restaurant’s standards. Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and in good working condition.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team, including other chefs, sous chefs, and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operations. Provide guidance and training to junior staff members as needed.
- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends in Chinese cuisine and incorporate innovative techniques and ingredients into your cooking. Experiment with new recipes and flavors to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- Customer Feedback: Interact with guests to gather feedback and ensure their satisfaction. Use feedback to make improvements and enhance the dining experience.
