Job Description
The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently and independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Room Cleaning:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Replenish guest room supplies, such as toiletries, towels, and beverages.
- Ensure that all furniture, fixtures, and appliances are clean and in good working condition.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Public Area Cleaning:
- Clean and maintain public areas of the hotel, such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms.
- Ensure that public areas are free of trash, dust, and debris.
- Polish and clean fixtures, mirrors, and surfaces in public areas.
- Laundry Duties:
- Collect, sort, and transport linens and towels to the laundry area.
- Operate laundry machines and equipment to wash, dry, and fold linens and towels.
- Ensure that clean linens are properly stored and distributed to guest rooms and other areas as needed.
- Stock and Supply Management:
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other housekeeping items.
- Maintain an inventory of housekeeping supplies and report shortages to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Organize and maintain housekeeping carts and storage areas.
- Customer Interaction:
- Greet guests and respond to their requests promptly and courteously.
- Provide information and assistance to guests as needed.
- Ensure a positive and welcoming experience for guests by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and service.
- Adherence to Standards:
- Follow hotel policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Adhere to the hotel’s cleaning and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay updated on housekeeping practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks, such as lifting and bending.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
