Job Description

Waiter

A Waiter is a key member of the restaurant staff, responsible for providing exceptional service to guests and ensuring a memorable dining experience. Their primary duties include:

  • Greeting Guests: Welcoming guests warmly, presenting menus, and offering seating arrangements.
  • Taking Orders: Accurately recording food and beverage orders, making recommendations, and accommodating special requests.
  • Serving Food and Beverages: Delivering orders promptly and professionally, ensuring that all items are served at the appropriate temperature and presentation.
  • Customer Service: Attending to guests’ needs, checking on them periodically, and addressing any concerns or issues with courtesy and efficiency.
  • Menu Knowledge: Having a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, to answer guests’ questions and provide suggestions.
  • Payment Handling: Processing payments, providing accurate change, and ensuring a smooth checkout process.
  • Table Maintenance: Keeping tables clean and tidy throughout the meal, including clearing plates, refilling drinks, and resetting tables for the next guests.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure seamless service and communication.
  • Up-selling: Promoting daily specials, signature dishes, and upselling beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
