Forbana have all types of RTO agents who provide you with a Learner’s License (LL), certain documents are required to verify your eligibility and identity. Below is a list of the essential documents needed for obtaining a Learner’s License:

1. Age Proof

To verify that you meet the minimum age requirement, you will need to provide one of the following documents:
– Birth Certificate: Issued by a municipal authority or any recognized birth registration authority.
– Passport: A copy of your passport.
– School Leaving Certificate (or Matriculation Certificate): A certificate issued by the school with your date of birth mentioned.
– Aadhar Card: This can serve as both age and address proof in some cases.
– PAN Card: In certain cases, your PAN card can also be used as age proof.

The minimum age requirement varies depending on the type of vehicle you wish to learn to drive:
– Motorcycle without gear (up to 50cc): Minimum 16 years.
– Motorcycle with gear and Light Motor Vehicles (LMV): Minimum 18 years.
2. Address Proof
To confirm your residential address, you will need to provide one of the following documents:
– Aadhar Card: A widely accepted document as both age and address proof.
– Passport: Can be used as both address and identity proof.
– Voter ID: Valid for address verification.
– Utility Bills: Recent bills (electricity, water, telephone, gas) showing your name and address.
– Bank Statement/Passbook: A recent bank statement or passbook with your address mentioned.
– Rental Agreement: If you’re renting a property, a registered rental agreement may also work as address proof.
– Ration Card: Can be used as address proof in some jurisdictions.
3. Passport-Sized Photographs
You will need to submit 2-3 recent passport-sized photographs (as per the requirements of your Regional Transport Office – RTO).
4. Medical Fitness Certificate (if applicable)
In most cases, a medical certificate is required to confirm that the applicant is medically fit to drive, especially if they are applying for a commercial learner’s license or are above a certain age (typically 50 years and above). The certificate must be signed by a registered medical practitioner.
– Form 1-A: This is the medical fitness certificate form that is filled out by the doctor. It states that the applicant is physically fit to drive.
5. Application Form
– Form 2: This is the application form for a learner’s license. It can be filled online or obtained from the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
You can also fill out the online application for a learner’s license through your state’s transport department website, depending on your jurisdiction.
6. Valid Identity Proof (if required)
Aadhar Card: This is often used as comprehensive identity proof.
-Passport: Valid for both identity and address verification.
– Voter ID: Can be used as identity proof.
7. Learner’s License Test
– Learner’s Test: Most RTOs require you to pass a written test (or an online test, in some areas) to get your learner’s license. The test assesses basic knowledge about road signs, traffic rules, and safety measures.
8. Fees
The applicable fees for applying for a Learner’s License, which can be paid online or at the RTO, depending on the process in your area.
